Homelessness
The Homeless
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development found that approximately 580,466 people were experiencing homelessness in the United States on a single night in January 2020, up by 2.2 percent from 2019. At least 63,706 people are experiencing homelessness in Los Angeles County, according to the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority count conducted in 2020. This represents an approximately 19 percent increase from 2019. Furthermore, at least 41,290 people are experiencing homelessness in the City of Los Angeles alone. We ethically source products from social enterprises that empower these individuals with job training, employment, supportive housing, and the professional skills needed to transition out of homelessness.
Access to stable, reliable employment and livable wages provides opportunities to reduce homelessness and inequality.
